Google is sending its AI chips to space next week to find out if data centers can run in orbit. On October 1, a SpaceX Falcon 9 will carry Google's TPUs into space for the first time. It's the first real test of Project Suncatcher. The reason: in orbit, solar panels can generate up to 8× more power than on Earth.
