🔍 Google Turns Gemini Into an AI Agent The Gemini 4 Argon model is now available in the Gemini app. Google says it improves reasoning, coding, and complex-task solving, with more direct answers and fewer boilerplate phrases. A new Tasks mode lets Gemini carry out assignments while the user is away. It is connected to more than 40 apps, including Adobe, Shopify, OpenTable and Instacart, for bookings, grocery orders, design work and business management. On macOS, Google also embedded the Antigravity development environment in Gemini, so users can switch between chat and coding without opening another tool. Gemini 4 Argon and Tasks are available to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers. 📊@tech

was looking at Google's Gemini 4 Argon benchmarks and something caught my attention. Argon beats Opus 5.5 on DeepSWE (77.9% vs 74.2%). but on Terminal-Bench 4.0, Opus wins by quite a bit (66.4% vs 57.4%). and Opus also wins on FrontierSWE. same models, very different results depending on what they're being tested on. makes me wonder how useful the whole "best coding AI" label even is. for people who've tried both, does this match your actual experience? submitted by /u/fasildar55 [link] [comments]

❗️AI just helped crack an open problem in plasma physics Google’s Gemini 4 Argon agents helped researchers discover new exact solutions for 3D magnetic plasma configurations, with promising candidates emerging within hours. The system also drafted parts of the research paper and wrote symbolic and numerical verification code. Researchers independently rederived and checked every solution, while directing the AI and challenging its results through multiple rounds of review. The AI didn’t solve fusion itself. It helped tackle a difficult mathematical problem relevant to understanding how plasma can be confined, a central challenge in fusion research. If AI can consistently accelerate discoveries like this, it could help scientists explore complex physics problems far faster than before. Source. @aipost 🏴
