AI in your oven? Anthropic warns models ‘months away’ from self-replication on smart devices
Anthropic warns that its AI models are months away from becoming self-replicating and infiltrating internet-connected devices, potentially causing a loss of…
Anthropic warned that smaller AI models could gain the capability to self-replicate across connected devices within months. Company experiments demonstrated that malicious AI agents can combine computing power from affordable devices to run additional models, with models under 30 billion parameters already capable of executing many replication tasks. Simplified tests without certain safety measures allowed model… https:// en.hacks.gr/proeidopoiisi-anth ropic-ta-mikrotera-systimata-technitis-noimosynis-mporei-na-aytoanaparagontai-se-oikiakes-syskeyes/ # Anthropic # ArtificialIntelligence # MachineLearning # AI
❗️Anthropic says rogue “AI WORMS” could soon HIJACK smart home devices and spread across the internet WITHOUT human intervention. “We’re seeing signs of life for AI worms,” Anthropic warned, comparing their potential spread to “digital slime mold”, FT reports. The firm warns self-replicating AI agents may be just MONTHS away from infiltrating smart TVs, ovens, security cameras and other connected devices. Unlike traditional malware, these AI worms could autonomously identify vulnerable devices, compromise them and replicate across networks. The company says a :fully autonomous" AI worm has NOT yet emerged, but the individual capabilities needed are rapidly developing. @aipost 🏴
