I've been building Buddy, an open-source Android app that runs the real Codex CLI inside the app, in a small Linux, signed in with your ChatGPT plan. No PC, no adb, no root. Codex also gets tools to see the screen and tap, so it can use your apps and test what it builds. The test in the picture: I typed "Build and install a Pac-Man style maze game with ghosts and touch controls" with Linux tools on for that chat. What Codex did, about 2.5 minutes: Wrote a plain Java game and built a signed APK right on the phone (no Gradle). Ran a little script to check every pellet in the maze is reachable. I didn't ask for that. Asked me on an approval card before installing, then Android's own Install. It also works with Claude Code, OpenCode, Antigravity and Grok if you use those. Free, Apache 2.0.
