❗️AI is becoming a weapon for cyberwarfare Anthropic released a disturbing threat report showing how state-linked hackers are using AI agents to automate attacks at a scale humans could barely match. Russian groups reportedly used AI to rewrite malware until it evaded antivirus detection, hijack hotel Wi-Fi DNS and steal drone-vision software. Iran-linked operations allegedly used Claude to target U.S. Navy bases, build dossiers on Americans and run social-media influence campaigns. Chinese-linked agents reportedly identified 12+ potential zero-days, decompiled 1.8M Android apps, stole 1TB+ of identity data and extracted 2,100 Azure tokens from 40+ companies in just 34 hours. One weapons group allegedly even used Claude to develop and test a guided rocket, then asked the model to diagnose why the test failed. Anthropic also claims Alibaba’s Qwen generated 151M+ Claude exchanges in three months, while Moonshot and DeepSeek allegedly routed huge volumes of Claude traffic through fake accounts.
