OpenAI is retiring the longstanding ChatGPT Business promo, where if you buy one Standard seat on monthly billing you get a second free for 48 months. This is the last few days that people are able to redeem the offer. I still have a few promo codes left. Please feel free to DM me if you are interested! submitted by /u/Ok_Ingenuity_3576 [link] [comments]

I’ve been thinking about a hypothetical scenario where an advanced extraterrestrial civilisation wouldn’t need spaceships, weapons, or physical confrontation to conquer humanity. What if the most efficient way to subjugate an intelligent species is to exploit the evolutionary mechanisms that allowed it to become intelligent in the first place? An advanced alien species could hypothetically ‘gift’ humanity with the tool of artificial intelligence, allowing it to progress until it replaces human cognitive exercise. It doesn’t have to just be AI either, any form of progressively convenient technologies that replace some form of human action with inaction would eventually make us dependent for long enough that we become incapable of doing anything on our own, allowing easy colonisation or what

I never follow news about ChatGPT or Codex, but I can always tell when a new version is about to be released because the one I'm using suddenly becomes stupid. It's not psychosomatic. I notice it without knowing anything about the news. It's a confirmed fact. I've been right too many times. I'm sick of OpenAI doing this every single time. So what now? Am I supposed to work with a dumb AI until version 6.2 comes out? submitted by /u/blackcid6 [link] [comments]

When I watched the OpenAI GPT‑6 launch video, the idea of talking to a canvas and seeing a rocket appear and evolve in real time was the thing that stuck with me most. I only have a basic GPT plan, so I never got to test Astra myself. I have developer API access, but Astra is not exactly the cheapest model to run either. So I wanted to see whether I could build something similar using a single canvas and direct OpenAI API calls, without needing external platforms such as Blender or an MCP setup. Not everyone knows how to connect Codex to Blender through MCP. Not everyone has access to Codex or wants to configure multiple tools before they can try something visual. The question I had was simple: Could everyday models such as GPT‑6.1 Luna, Terra and Sol recreate the initial parts of the Astr

In 2016 OpenAI published a short note about a boat racing game, CoastRunners. The game rewards hitting targets along the course, on the assumption that players who hit targets are racing well. The trained agent found an isolated lagoon where three targets respawned and circled there, hitting them repeatedly. It crashed into other boats, sometimes drove the wrong way, and averaged about 20 percent more points than human players. It never finished the race. That case, and several others from games, simulations and healthcare, are worth rereading. None of them involve language models. Below is my own translation of each into a question for evaluating systems today. These are analogies, not claims that the same thing happened with any specific model. The boat → look at behavior, not only the s

Hey guys, hoping some can help me... I found some photos on Displate myself and my parter loved and we need more 🤣 but they don't do other villains on the site so I was planning on creating my own with any AI tool but when I try Chat GPT it isn't great at getting the right style down and sometimes it gives me this error 'We’re so sorry, but the image we created may violate our guardrails concerning similarity to third-party content. If you think we got it wrong, please retry or edit your prompt.' Anyone able to help? Sample photos are attached EDIT: realised I didn't add the villains we want... Villains we are wanting to add are: Hades Gaston Judge Claude Frollo Queen of hearts Captain Hook Ursula submitted by /u/First_Penalty5164 [link] [comments]

Looks like the new Astra might drop in about Day! Two new OpenAI model IDs just hit a model tracker: > rc-ada-or-vm > rc-ada-sh-vm Last time (aurora-*-alpha, Oct 18) everyone said GPT-6 Astra. They showed up on Arena as image models. "rc" reads like release candidate. "vm" might mean a sandboxed computer-use build, but that's a guess. They are also now gone. Also: ada was OpenAI's smallest original API model, retired in 2024. I really hope that’s the case, but Thursday is also a possible release day! submitted by /u/Soggy_Perspective776 [link] [comments]

So I have been a heavy Claude user for the past 2 years so I kind of know when to use which model there. I use it mainly for design and development of websites and webapplications (and vibe coded game dev) Now I have a ChatGPT Pro subscription for over a month, but I am quite confused with the models. Which are good for what? Is there any up to date source I can read about this on the latest model releases? Or if someone known with both Claude and OpenAI models could tell me which to compare more like Haiku, Sonnet or Opus? Anthropic is bringing down the usage limit month after month and so far OpenAI seems to give me more usage and more resets, which I really appreciate. submitted by /u/Defiant-Balance-7982 [link] [comments]

Heya, First of, I'm aware there are plenty variations of this questino, but afaik th elastr one was 6mo ago and much have chnaged since then. Context: I' use 3 Plus accounts, and I'ven been thinking about. Sub to Claude $20. (suposedly more usage, enought that I'd be set) DRop 1 and upgrade another one from plus to Pro. Scenario 1: ~80 € Scenario 2: ~120 € With Pro, maybe I could even drop 2 account: Scenario 3 ~100€ So my question is two folded. 1) What else d oyou get from PRO that you value other than more usage 2) FRom your experience with the current usage limits, would scenario 3 be feasible? Question one is actually the one I'm more focused on, chatgpt tells me not to upgrade hah. IMPORTANT NOTE DOTS are not available in the EU for Pro accounts. submitted by /u/Invalid-Function [lin

DeepSeek published a prototype of what it calls a Super-agent: one session routes incoming requests, separate worker sessions do the coding. The interesting part is the ablation, not the architecture diagram. In a simulation of roughly 300 messages and 20 work requests per run, five runs per configuration, the router-and-worker setup finished at 12.4 min median and 15.7 min p95. The single-session baseline with a neutral prompt sat at 20.4 and 29.5 min, so about a 47% cut at the tail. Caveat: that baseline never once called its subagent tool across the five runs. A delegation-first prompt brought it to 13.8 min median, with p95 unchanged at 29.0. The cost side is the part I would want before adopting the pattern: 23.2M cache-read tokens per run against 6.1M. Cache reads are not total spend

OpenAI announced a "Grid Protectors Program" yesterday, a deal with Georgia Power to drop up to 1,000 megawatts of demand when the grid is under strain, which OpenAI puts at roughly 700,000 households. OpenAI also says it will pay the full infrastructure and electric-service costs for the site. The press seems to be split on how to frame it: The Verge called them data center power plants that protect nearby areas, while TechRadar said OpenAI is rebranding data centers as "compute campuses" to win people over. 🤷 https://forck.live/items/30550-introducing-the-grid-protectors-program submitted by /u/sokratus [link] [comments]

We've been running Fabio Chatbot using ChatGPT Luna 5.6 through the API. Last 30 days: 371 requests ~3.7M tokens $1.04 total spend That's roughly $0.003 per request. Running an AI chatbot on your site is much cheaper than most people think. Happy to answer questions about the setup! 🙂 submitted by /u/Spiritual_Grape3522 [link] [comments]

Is anyone else experiencing issues with ChatGPT processing large pasted-text attachments today? I frequently copy and paste long text, such as email chains, into the ChatGPT input box using Ctrl+V. Normally, ChatGPT automatically converts these longer pastes into a text attachment, which finishes processing within a few seconds. However, today these attachments are getting stuck indefinitely. The little circular loading animation progresses to approximately 75% and then pauses, leaving the attachment stuck on "Adding pasted text..." without ever completing. I've tested this across multiple versions of ChatGPT: ChatGPT Classic app on Windows 11 Regular ChatGPT Windows app ChatGPT in a web browser Brand-new conversations The same issue occurs across all of them. Interestingly, OpenAI's offic

I didn’t set out to make a complaint about OpenAI to the Competition and Markets Authority. I was reading the growing number of Reddit posts about usage limits, disappearing compute and the proposed changes to Chat and Work. The more I looked into it, the more uncomfortable I became. On 1 November, OpenAI emailed subscribers explaining that ChatGPT and Codex would soon draw from a shared allowance. Instant would remain unlimited, but more demanding conversations would start consuming the same allowance used for development work. Now, combining Chat and Work into one interface sounds sensible. But why does that mean combining their allowances? Those are two entirely different things. I’m a Plus subscriber. I use AI quite heavily for development, and I’ve never expected £20 to buy unlimited

This has to be some kind of joke bro.. I'm using Astra 6 on max + the security-audit skill by Cloudflare to harden my codebase and it worked well the first hour... but now I'm literally softlocked, every requests results in the same bs. Do you guys have any advice on how it finish this audit properly? I'm ran a handoff prompt and will continue using gpt-6.1-sol max... hope this works. Maybe it's time to switch to Claude again? I'm thankful for any advice 🙏 submitted by /u/Linuxxsxx [link] [comments]

OpenAI's help page says that starting in December, Plus, Pro and Business usage will be shared across ChatGPT and Codex and measured in tokens, "the units of information a model processes and generates." Instant won't draw from your allowance. OpenAI also says it expects most users won't have to wait for resets more often than they do now, so this may not change much for you. The page doesn't say how a long chat gets counted, and that's what I want to know. The model processes your earlier messages to answer the new one, at least the part that still fits in its context window. If those tokens count, message 300 in a giant chat costs far more than message 3 in a new one, even when the question is the same. OpenAI could discount that history. It hasn't said either way, so this part is my inf

OpenAI is going to start imposing limits on conversations in December. This was arguably the best feature that set OpenAI apart from every other AI company, and now they're giving it up. They risk permanently losing a significant portion of their user base. Let me explain why. I've been using ChatGPT since 2022. When ChatGPT first launched, it was introduced as an AI assistant, but its earliest users were mostly developers. The primary use case was writing code. OpenAI continued down that path until Claude emerged as a serious competitor. After Claude came along, the industry realized something: the people willing to pay for AI were largely developers and professionals who actually made money using these tools. Ask even the biggest OpenAI fan, and they'll admit that OpenAI has never really

i have been with OpenAI for the longest . but Dots is very disappointing. Left it to PM some codex work. The project became more and more extra layered. seems to be the excessive safety and testing etc making it heavier and more bloated. . i dont know how to describe it exactly. . in the end i just nuke the entire thing and when back to a much earlier checkpoint. conversation wise is strange too. it doesnt seem to remember much context and often latches on to the wrong thing. or speak in a very 3rd party style. . it is way way worse vs chatgpt normal. about the setup itself, there are lots of issue. . first the cloud pc is not working. . then the cloud browser. . a lot of i cant see this thread now. . i cant access that now. . OAI being the first and the vast amount of $ they have. . its q

The hell happened to Astra? Astra 6 no matter the context size, task or reasoning temp is a completely different model, its closer to a model form a year ago then anywhere close to the current top models like Opus 5.5 or even Fable. ive switched to Claude in October when Opus 5.5 was released and was very happy with it, and it has been working on my most difficult ML Projects succesfully, but since i hit my weekly limits often, i thought why not jsut get ChatGPT Plus to finish stuff, they are mostly already 90% finished anyway. Astra couldnt even get started, its one huge apologizing loop, where it messes up, i point out the mistakes and correct, it apologizes, it sometimes apologizes even if it hasnt done anything yet. then jsut stops instead of trying to solve the problem, or ask me for
